Welcome to the home of LynJ Felt Print

Lyn Jenkins is a textile designer of wide experience currently working from her studio in Lincolnshire.

Trained originally as a printed textile desisgner with a B.A. in Fine Art from Newcastle University she became interested in the construction of fabric as well as patterning it's surface.

She learnt spinning and weaving, becoming chairman of Lincolnshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers at the end of the 80's when she had passed the Bradford and Ilkley Certificate of Spinning and Weaving. It was on this course she discovered the art of feltmaking . This very tactile construction of a fabric which can be diaphanous or strongly sculptural has dominated her working life ever since. She has been a member of the International Feltmakers Association for over 20 years and regional organiser for 6 of them.

Lyn has also been a member of the Contemporary Craft Network for a similar time, and has regularly exhibited with them both nationally and abroad, taking an exhibition which included her felt to Archangel, Russia with a small group of artists on an exchange with the help of the Usher Gallery, Lincoln. Since 2000 she has been a member of Art on the Map Open Studios, and has opened her studio to the public each successive year.

Lyn has enjoyed communicating and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for her craft with members of the public, teaching at B.Tec level and as Artist in Residence in schools and colleges in Norfolk and throughout Lincolnshire.

Lyn runs workshops in Beginners and Intermmediate Feltmaking for groups and Guilds and small courses for the public at her studio in Lincolnshire.
